Community Outreach at St. Paul’s UM

May’s community meal will be held May 20

Free Community Meal

The newest outreach held at St. Paul’s is a “Community Meal” for those who need a hot dinner.  It will take place in our fellowship hall the second Monday of each month.  Along with our own church members, Christians from Bethany and Zion United Methodist, Red Lion, and Zion UM Church, Freysville, and Emmanuel UCC, Freysville are cooperating with us.

Our goal is not just to feed the body but to minister to the soul, too.  Pastor Tim and some others will fellowship with the folks who come in order to strike up a relationship with them.  Once a relationship is established, we will do our best to introduce them to Christ if an opening is given.  If not, then we will continue to feed them.

Community Meal Update

The May Community Meal is pushed back a week:   Due to the pre-school graduation on Monday, May 13, the Community Meal for May will he held on the third Monday of the month, May 20 from 5:00 – 6:30 PM in our Fellowship Hall. It normally is scheduled for the second Monday.  This outreach continues to meet a need in the Red Lion Borough. Along with the meal we also offer an activity time for the children and a Christian based video for the adults after most have finished eating.   We are very grateful to all those who volunteer from St. Paul’s and all the other churches.  We especially thank Wanda Strickler.  She is the leader from our congregation and puts much time and effort into these meals to make them a success.  The menu for May is: Baked chicken, mashed potatoes, corn, peaches, roll, dessert and beverage.
